Základní info

NOTE: THIS IS AN ONLINE SELF-PACED VIRTUAL COURSE. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE TRAVEL ARRANGEMENTS FOR THIS COURSE.
Self-paced virtual courses provide the same deep technical content as our classroom courses, but allow you to learn on your own schedule. You can stop and start a Self-Paced Virtual class as needed during the 60-day access period.
There is no live instructor for this course, so it may not be appropriate for students who require the guidance of a live instructor.
Course overview:
This six-hour self-paced virtual course teaches students the skills they need to configure and monitor virtual systems deployed to private cloud environments using the IBM WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance.
The WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance is the first hardware appliance of its kind. Preloaded with WebSphere Application Server Hypervisor Edition, it provides access to WebSphere Application Server virtual images and patterns so that application environments can be quickly and easily created, and securely deployed and managed in a private cloud.
This course begins by introducing students to the key concepts of clouds and cloud computing, as well as to the technical and business benefits and challenges of cloud computing. Students then learn how the WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance can help organizations handle the business opportunities that cloud computing enables for the enterprise. In addition, students learn how the WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance and WebSphere Application Server Hypervisor Edition address provisioning virtual systems into cloud environments.
The course then provides an overview of how to deploy, configure, and manage cloud environments with the WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance. Students learn how to create, deploy, and monitor virtual systems that are created from predefined patterns, as well as how to complete the initial physical and firmware configurations for the CloudBurst Appliance. Students also learn about the networking and storage requirements for implementing a VMware ESX cloud environment used by the WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance, and learn how to configure cloud resources, such as hypervisors and IP groups. Finally, the course covers resource management procedures for both virtual systems and the WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance.
In-depth product demonstrations provided throughout the course reinforce the content in the streaming lectures by highlighting the functionality of the WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance V2.0 and giving students additional insight into configuring and monitoring cloud resources and virtual systems. Topics covered by the demonstrations include configuring the WebSphere CloudBurst Appliance and cloud resources, creating virtual systems, managing resources, and performing recovery procedures. For example, the demonstrations show students how to configure product licenses on the appliance and how to configure Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) from the console. Students also learn how to create multi-image patterns from disparate image parts and how to manage dynamic virtual machines from the console. Finally, students learn to customize, clone, and deploy an Intelligent-Management-Pack-enabled pattern.
