IBM Tivoli Composite Application Manager (ITCAM) for Transactions 7.1 is an application monitoring tool you can use to comprehensively monitor, track, alert, and report on the availability and response time of business applications ranging from simple desktop clients to complex distributed composite Web applications.
In this three-day, instructor-led course you learn the product's features and how it fits into the overall ITCAM family. You also learn how to install and configure the product, monitor applications, and track transactions.
IBM Tivoli Education Workshops feature extensive hands-on labs. The student guide for this course limits the amount of additional student notes and instead relies on instructor expertise and practical lab exercises to provide the essential information and skills.

ITCAM for Transactions 7.1 uses the Tivoli Monitoring Tivoli Enterprise Portal. You should be familiar with Tivoli Monitoring and the Tivoli Enterprise Portal and have the following:
• Working knowledge of IBM Tivoli Monitoring V6.2 installation, configuration, and administration
• Working knowledge of system administration of Linux operating systems
• General knowledge of application monitoring and the applications to be monitored
• General knowledge of Application Response Measurement (ARM) concepts
• General knowledge of server hardware
• Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking principles
• Working knowledge of relational databases

• IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2 for Operators and Administrators (TV362 or TT362)
• Implementers will also benefit from IBM Tivoli Monitoring 6.2 for Implementers (TT352 or TT352)

To participate in both the lectures and labs for this course, the workstation must meet the following hardware requirements:
• Minimum of 256 MB of memory
• Windows 98 or higher
• Headset with microphone, or separate microphone and speakers
• Internet Explorer 5.5 or higher
• 128-bit encryption (Versions of Internet Explorer prior to version 6.0 and Windows 98, NT 4.0, and 2000 must have the High Encryption Packs installed)
• Citrix ICA Client (Installed when you access e-lab during class)
• High speed internet (56K bps or higher)
NOTE: The Citrix application (web client or full package) requires access to port 443 (https). Please ensure personal and corporate firewalls have this port open.
